Fear Foods

Fear foods are a large part of most peoples' struggles with an eating disorder. Although they may seem huge, they are really stupid rules that hinder our well-being.

It is a fact that the only way to get rid of them if to eat them. It's proven that once you eat them, the rules go away. The best way to overcome this is to write a list of all your fears, from scariest to least scary. Start on the bottom and work up. Try to tackle 2-3 a week.

Don't be afraid to rely on help from parents or other supports in your life. They can be extremely encouraging to help you realize that tackling these foods is for the best.

Tackling fear foods is incredibly important to start as soon as you begin recovery. Although this may seem weird, having variety will actually help you along the way! Typically, fear foods are high fat, high carb or high calorie foods. All these types of foods are DELICIOUS! I mean when you are trying to become weight restored, you usually have to eat over 3000 calories at some points. It is hard to reach 3000 calories with fruit and oatmeal (my two comfortable foods when at my lowest point). It's awesome to eat burgers, chips and chocolate to reach 3000 and it actually affects your body in the same way! You need to nourish your body and you might as well eat yummy food! :)

Welcome to My Blog!

Welcome! I am so happy that you came to my little corner of the internet :)

I am almost fully recovered form Anorexia/ED NOS and I hope to share what I have learned through this experience with you to help you get through tough times. After being hospitalized 3 times, I decided that I was going to recover on my own without hospital help and I can proudly say that although there are still rough days, I know that in the near future I will be able to say that I am completely recovered.

Anorexia and eating disorders in general are horrible, and I have experienced first hand the pain and suffering that comes with them. I know how it feels to be tortured by a disease that can make you feel as though you are in the depths of the earth. But, I also know how amazing it feels to have a life again and all that it brings.

This is going to be an anonymous blog with resources to help everyone who is recovering from an eating disorder.

I hope to include things such as:
-Meal or snack ideas
-Facts about my recovery
-Inspirational thoughts and quotes
-How to help someone with an eating disorder
-Body image help
-Dealing with triggers
-Coping with weight gain
-Recipes
-Reasons to recover

AND MUCH MORE!
